This week we're bypassing the randomizer for yet another Guest's
Choice episode, in which our good friend Chris Nebergall makes us
watch one of Walt Disney's more acclaimed live-action features, a
1954 megahit Jules Verne adaptation featuring groundbreaking
special effects, an Oscar-winning director, three Oscar-nominated
actors and an intelligent screenplay that didn't talk down to the
audience. Basically, it was one of the far-too-infrequent times in
Walt's career when he swung for the fences and made a real MOVIE,
but of course, Walt being Walt, it also still had both copious
racism AND an adorable animal sidekick who's just kinda there for
no reason. Such is the duality of Disney. Join Tony Goldmark, David
Ganssle, Madeline Maye and Chris Nebergall as they climb aboard the
Nautilus and venture 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA!
